We were honored to have a group of foreign Commercial Service Officers tour the South Eastern section of the Illinois Lincoln Highway on Saturday, April 5th.  The Officers are diplomatic representatives of their countries that work with tour operators that specialize in travel to the United States. They hold significant influence on outbound travel options. The diplomats were in Chicago for IPW 2014, the U.S. travel industry's premier marketplace, held at McCormick Place from April 5-9.

The Lincoln Highway tour was developed in partnership with the National Scenic Byway Foundation, Tri-State Travel and Great River Creative. The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition coordinated the tour schedule to highlight the southland communities, attractions and the murals along the Lincoln Highway.  The tour was a tremendous opportunity for the National Scenic Byway Foundation and the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition to present America's Byways as the "real America" with leading tourist destinations. "International travelers like to see authentic America," said Anaise Berry, President of the National Scenic Byway Foundation.
